Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarships 2025 Overview

The Institute of Commonwealth Studies, in collaboration with the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission and funded by the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), is offering 5 fully funded scholarships for the September 2025 intake of the MA in Human Rights by distance learning. This online Master’s program is practice-based and equips students with the professional and theoretical skills needed for a successful career in human rights advocacy and policy.

Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarships 2025 Eligibility

To qualify for the scholarship, applicants must:

• Be a citizen of a Low or Middle-Income Commonwealth country

• Already have an offer for the MA in Human Rights programme (distance learning)

• Unable to study in the UK due to financial or other constraints

• Demonstrate strong motivation and potential to contribute to sustainable development and human rights in their country

Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarships 2025 Application Process

1. Apply for admission to the MA in Human Rights by distance learning at the Institute of Commonwealth Studies

   • Deadline to apply for the MA: 9 May 2025 (recommended latest date)

2. Once admitted, apply for the scholarship through the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission’s application portal

   • Scholarship application deadline: 20 May 2025
