Overview
The Emerging Leaders in the Americas Program (ELAP) 2026 is a prestigious, fully funded Canadian government scholarship designed to support students from Latin America and the Caribbean to undertake short-term study or research in Canada.
Funded by Global Affairs Canada, the programme strengthens academic partnerships, builds human capital, and develops future leaders while promoting people-to-people ties between Canada and the Americas.
From the 2026–2027 cycle, the delivery model has changed: Canadian institutions now select students, meaning applicants must be nominated through participating Canadian universities and colleges.
