The Chevening Scholarships program offers fully funded opportunities for exceptional emerging leaders from around the world to pursue one-year master’s degrees at UK universities. Designed for individuals with a track record of leadership and the ambition to address local, national, or global challenges, the program enables recipients to focus entirely on their studies, professional growth, and cultural immersion in the UK.

Scholarship Categories

• One-year taught Master’s degree in any subject at a UK university

Fully Funded Chevening Scholarships 2026 for One-Year Master’s in the UK: Eligibility Criteria

• Be a citizen of a Chevening-eligible country or territory

• Have completed an undergraduate degree that meets UK postgraduate program requirements

• Have at least two years (equivalent to 2,800 hours) of work experience

• Meet English language requirements (if applicable for your course/university)

• Commit to returning to your country of citizenship for at least two years after the award ends

Documents Required

• Academic transcripts and degree certificates

• Two references

• Conditional or unconditional UK university admission offer (can be submitted later in the process)

• Valid passport or national ID

• English language test results (if applicable)

Important Notes

• Applications for the 2026/2027 academic year will open in August 2025

• You must apply to at least three eligible UK master’s programs and receive an unconditional offer from one

• No age limit, but candidates must demonstrate leadership potential and a strong professional plan

Selection Process: Applications are reviewed for eligibility and scored against leadership, networking, and career plans. Shortlisted applicants are invited to an interview at the British embassy/high commission in their country. Successful candidates receive full funding, including tuition, travel, and living expenses.
