Hyundai Motor Group Scholarship (SOAS University of London) Overview

The Hyundai Motor Group Scholarship supports African nationals pursuing a master’s or PhD at SOAS University of London. This initiative aims to develop experts in sustainable development and establish long-term collaborations between Hyundai and scholars.

Hyundai Motor Group Scholarship (SOAS University of London) Eligibility

• Open to African nationals who are ordinarily resident in Africa.

• For international fee-paying applicants only.

• New admissions for programs starting in 2025/26.

• Master’s applicants:

  • Must hold or expect a first-class honours degree (or equivalent).

  • Applicants with a 2:1 degree may apply but will not be prioritized.

• PhD applicants:

  • Must hold or expect a master’s degree with distinction (or equivalent).

  • Applicants with merit may apply but will not be prioritized.

• Applicants must apply for admission to SOAS before applying for the scholarship.

• Must meet the English language requirement if applicable.

• Part-time and 2-year master’s courses are NOT eligible.

Hyundai Motor Group Scholarship (SOAS University of London) Benefits

• Master’s Scholarship:

  • Covers full tuition fees.

  • If tuition is less than £27,730, the difference is provided as a stipend.

• PhD Scholarship:

  • Covers tuition fees for three years + writing-up fees in the 4th year.

  • Annual stipend of £22,780, paid in termly installments.

• Scholars will be invited to networking events, seminars, and a Junior Internship Program.

Candidate Assessment

• Evaluated based on academic merit and alignment with sustainable African transformation and growth.

• Selection is based on degree results, personal statement, and other relevant information.

• Candidates must have an unconditional offer by the time the selection panel meets.

• Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.

Application Process

1. Apply for a program at SOAS (Master’s or PhD).

2. Submit the scholarship application via the online form before 12:00 PM (UK time) on 25 April 2025.

Notification of Results

• Shortlisting and awarding are expected by June 2025.

• Successful candidates will be contacted first; unsuccessful applicants will be notified later.
