Internationally Qualified Sonographers Scholarship – King’s College London (2025/26) Overview

King’s College London is offering scholarships to internationally qualified Sonographers for the 2025/26 academic year. This funding aims to support Sonographers in obtaining a CASE-accredited award and Level 7 recognition in clinical ultrasound practice, providing an opportunity to build a personalized portfolio of evidence and contribute to qualitative research.

Internationally Qualified Sonographers Scholarship – King’s College London (2025/26) Eligibility

• Internationally qualified Sonographers recruited by NHSE as part of their Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) recruitment strategies

• Internationally qualified Sonographers (from any country) already working in the UK NHS as non-obstetrics Sonographers

• Must secure a clinical placement within the NHS from September 2025 (minimum 14 hours per week)

Internationally Qualified Sonographers Scholarship – King’s College London (2025/26) Benefits

• Full funding of part-time Clinical Ultrasound tuition fees for successful candidates:

  • Home fee status: £5,650 (Pg Cert 2025/26)

  • Overseas (international) fee status: £11,933 (Pg Cert 2025/26)

• Access to a Pg Cert in Clinical Ultrasound

• Opportunity to register with the Register of Clinical Technologists (RCT) alongside existing international or HCPC registration

Internationally Qualified Sonographers Scholarship – King’s College London (2025/26) Application Requirements

• Completed application through King’s Apply

• £85 non-refundable application fee

• Personal Statement (Portfolio Introduction) outlining relevant skills and ultrasound experience (up to 1000 words)

• Completed UK Standards of proficiency skills gap analysis self-assessment

• Evidence of prior qualifications, experience, and overseas registration (including registration number)

• Updated resume/CV

• Two references:

  • One from your current NHS employer or placement provider

  • One Employer’s Letter of Support

• Memorandum of agreement from the placement provider

• Proof of English Language proficiency (if required)

• Evidence of right to work or study in the UK (if required)

Internationally Qualified Sonographers Scholarship – King’s College London (2025/26) Application Process

• Submit an application through King’s Apply

• In the application, select PGCert Clinical Ultrasound and enter funding code ‘US2025’ under ‘Funding’

• No separate scholarship application process; the required documents must be submitted with the application

• Short-listed candidates will be invited for an interview via Microsoft Teams and may be required to attend a workshop and an in-person entrance exam

Selection Process

• Eligible candidates will be invited for a 30-minute interview

• Short-listed candidates will attend a workshop, followed by an in-person entrance exam for General Medical Ultrasound, Physics, and Equipment theory modules

• Successful applicants will be notified by 1st September 2025
