Internationally Qualified Sonographers Scholarship – King’s College London (2025/26) Overview
King’s College London is offering scholarships to internationally qualified Sonographers for the 2025/26 academic year. This funding aims to support Sonographers in obtaining a CASE-accredited award and Level 7 recognition in clinical ultrasound practice, providing an opportunity to build a personalized portfolio of evidence and contribute to qualitative research.
Internationally Qualified Sonographers Scholarship – King’s College London (2025/26) Eligibility

Internationally qualified Sonographers recruited by NHSE as part of their Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) recruitment strategies
-
Internationally qualified Sonographers (from any country) already working in the UK NHS as non-obstetrics Sonographers

Must secure a clinical placement within the NHS from September 2025 (minimum 14 hours per week)

Full funding of part-time Clinical Ultrasound tuition fees for successful candidates:

Home fee status: £5,650 (Pg Cert 2025/26)

Overseas (international) fee status: £11,933 (Pg Cert 2025/26)

Opportunity to register with the Register of Clinical Technologists (RCT) alongside existing international or HCPC registration

Personal Statement (Portfolio Introduction) outlining relevant skills and ultrasound experience (up to 1000 words)

Completed UK Standards of proficiency skills gap analysis self-assessment

Evidence of prior qualifications, experience, and overseas registration (including registration number)

Updated resume/CV

Two references:

One from your current NHS employer or placement provider

One Employer’s Letter of Support

Memorandum of agreement from the placement provider

Proof of English Language proficiency (if required)

Submit an application through King’s Apply

In the application, select PGCert Clinical Ultrasound and enter funding code ‘US2025’ under ‘Funding’

No separate scholarship application process; the required documents must be submitted with the application

Short-listed candidates will be invited for an interview via Microsoft Teams and may be required to attend a workshop and an in-person entrance exam
Selection Process

Eligible candidates will be invited for a 30-minute interview

Short-listed candidates will attend a workshop, followed by an in-person entrance exam for General Medical Ultrasound, Physics, and Equipment theory modules
