Qualifications

What we are looking for

Must Have

  • 3+ years of HR or people operations experience in a fast-moving and agile environment.
  • 2+ years of recruiting experience
  • Previous HR Documentation and process design
  • Knowledge of HR policies and best practices
  • Familiarity with HR technology and tools
  • Demonstrated competence in social media recruiting, recruiting marketing , and employer branding
  • Demonstrated application of design thinking concept to HR project delivery
  • Must be data-driven and can use basic analytical and survey tools
  • Strong reporting and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to think creatively and strategically
  • Curious, probing, and Research oriented
  • Proven track record of developing, driving, and delivering against implementation plans.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills

Nice to have

  • Previous experience in an employee engagement-related role
  • Experience within the Start-up space
  • Tech recruiting experience
  • Creative or content writing experience is  an advantage
  • Brand storytelling

Job Role

The Employee Experience Specialist will provide strategic support to the people operations function at every stage of the employment lifecycle; focusing on the employee to create a positive workplace culture and experience.

In this role, you are expected to be the “eyes and ears” for the People & Culture team, acting as an internal consultant to facilitate and influence change programs and engaging people initiatives. You will have oversight of all people operations initiatives and most times work on projects but you will own and be accountable for talent acquisition, employer branding, employee engagement, and people policy implementation.

To be successful in this role, you will have to combine being focused and looking at the bigger picture while delivering value to our employees as a specialist through the lens of a generalist. You are research and data-driven with an understanding of the design thinking concept.

You will find this role fulfilling if you are able to engage and collaborate with stakeholders across all levels, are very creative,  always coming up with novel ideas, and are not afraid of exploring different ways of execution. It’s definitely not just a sit-behind-a-laptop kind of role!

Job Responsibilities

  • Connect with prospective and existing employees, team leads and the people operations team at every stage of the employee lifecycle to ensure employees have a positive experience
  • Execute the talent acquisition, employer branding, and engagement strategy; leveraging it for a top-notch employee experience
  • Create, manage, and measure impactful engagement initiatives that promote employee development, growth, and well-being
  • Implement initiatives that focus on  employee recognition and reward program
  • Develop and administer employee-employer engagement and feedback strategy e.g surveys, and stay interviews; Measure, Analyze, prepare reports, and create action plans
  • Develop and implement people-friendly processes and policies using employee feedback as a valuable tool.
  • Using agile methodologies to map out key employee journeys, address pain points, and make recommendations on how employee experience can be enhanced
  • Assist with internal and external workplace communications
  • Design employee experience frameworks, tools, and approaches to drive engagement
  • Review management and people practices and their impact on the employee experience
  • Act as an advocate for employees, and facilitate communication between employees and the company’s leadership
  • Analyse People Metrics to monitor and proactively manage people-related key performance indicators, and define strategies for improvement e.g. sickness, Average Employee lifetime, Attrition, Retention rate, etc.
  • Research and stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices related to employee experience and engagement
