We’re looking for an experienced Employee Relations Partner located in North America to join our growing People organization. This newly-formed role will sit on the People Business Partners (PBP) team and will work very closely with our PBPs.

You will design, build, and scale our processes to support Zapier in refining our employee relations practices. This role will have a strong focus on supporting high performing teams, managing workplace investigations, and supporting in other areas of coaching and conflict resolution.

About You

  • 5+ years overall/broad HR experience
  • 3-4 years doing focused Employee Relations work, potentially as a significant part of a Generalist role
  • Direct experience conducting workplace investigations
  • Direct experience working with managers on performance management/improvement
  • Direct experience partnering with other People team stakeholders (DIBE, Business Partners, etc) and Employment Counsel
  • Experience partnering very closely with People Business Partners (HRBPs) or potentially sitting on a Business Partner team is desirable
  • Excellent understanding and application of diversity, inclusion, belonging, and equity principles in every facet of your work
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws (primarily US and with a preference towards outside the US as well) and common practices
  • High ethical bar and desire to drive to the right outcome
  • Strong capacity for discretion and confidentiality
  • Ability to build trust quickly and to operate with strong empathy for others
  • Strong default towards action and a sense of urgency
  • An innovative and creative approach to people work
  • You are preferably located in Eastern Time Zone

Things You’ll Do

  • In partnership with the Director of People Business Partners and Employment Counsel, design a workplace investigations framework and process, to allow us to promptly look into any concerns raised.
  • Directly manage workplace investigations with care, while working through the process swiftly and equitably. These investigations may include Code of Conduct, harassment, discrimination, or other policy violations.
  • Partner closely with the People Business Partners to understand business needs and nuances, and resolve situations together.
  • Ensure a consistent application of our approach to performance management, and that all Zapiens receive the appropriate feedback and guidance from their manager.
  • Manage some performance improvement cases directly, working with managers to coach and uplevel their employees’ performance
  • Ensure consistent and equitable application of all employee relations practices
  • In partnership with our DIBE (Diversity, Inclusion, Belonging, and Equity) team, ensure all ER processes and practices proactively support an inclusive environment for all Zapiens.
  • Create a balanced employee experience, helping managers and employees through challenges. Help to de-escalate conflicts with those seeking support.
  • Drive conflicts or concerns to resolution and effectively communicate with all parties involved.
  • Help minimize risk to Zapier.
