Queen Mary University Sanctuary Scholarship 2025/26 (Undergraduate) Overview

Queen Mary University of London offers the Sanctuary Scholarship to support asylum seekers or those with temporary immigration status who are ineligible for student loans. It applies to undergraduate students studying in the Faculty of Science & Engineering or the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.

Queen Mary University Sanctuary Scholarship 2025/26 (Undergraduate) Eligibility

To be eligible, you must:

• Be an asylum seeker or the child of an asylum seeker; or

• Have temporary immigration status granted due to an asylum claim (e.g., limited leave to remain, discretionary leave, humanitarian protection);
  And:

• Be unable to access Student Loan Company funding due to your immigration status.

• Have applied to an undergraduate course in the relevant faculties via UCAS by 29 January 2025.

• Have received a conditional or unconditional offer from Queen Mary University.

• Not already hold a qualification at the same or a higher level.

Queen Mary University Sanctuary Scholarship 2025/26 (Undergraduate) Benefits

• Full tuition fee waiver

• £1,700 Queen Mary Bursary per year

• Living cost grant:

  • £8,877 if living with a parent

  • £13,762 if living independently

• Funding is provided for the normal duration of the course (additional support may be reviewed case by case).

Application Requirements

• Complete the Application Form 2025/26 before the deadline.

• Email supporting documents to bursaries@qmul.ac.uk, which may include:

  • ARC (Application Registration Card)

  • Bail form (Temporary Admission or BAIL 201)

  • BRP/eVisa

  • Passport or travel document

  • Driving licence or birth certificate
