University of Leeds UK Undergraduate Means-Tested Scholarships 2025 Overview

The University of Leeds offers means-tested undergraduate scholarships to support UK students from low-income households. These scholarships provide financial assistance and additional support services to eligible students entering full-time undergraduate programs in 2025.

University of Leeds UK Undergraduate Means-Tested Scholarships 2025 Eligibility

Applicants must:

• Be a UK student applying for entry in 2025 into a full-time undergraduate degree at the University of Leeds.

• Have no prior higher education experience.

• Be liable for full UK undergraduate fees without external subsidies.

• Be eligible for a UK student maintenance loan.

• Have a household income of £42,875 per year or below.

• Not be in receipt of any other scholarship or bursary.

University of Leeds UK Undergraduate Means-Tested Scholarships 2025 Benefits

• £3,000 per year for three years (paid in cash instalments).

• Additional £2,000 per year for students who are care-experienced or estranged from their parents.

• Access to mentoring, workshops, and social events through the Plus Programme.

University of Leeds UK Undergraduate Means-Tested Scholarships 2025 Selection Criteria

Preference is given to applicants from disadvantaged backgrounds, including:

• First-generation university students.

• Students who have completed access programs (Access to Leeds, Reach for Excellence, etc.).

• Those with personal, social, or domestic life disruptions.

• Students from low higher education progression areas.

• Care-experienced or estranged students.

• Refugees or students with humanitarian protection status.

Application Process

• Applications are open and must be submitted by Monday, 2 June 2025, at 12 PM (noon).

• Only the most recently submitted application will be considered.

Scholarships for Specific Faculties and Schools

• Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences & Faculty of Environment: Special scholarships for low-income students.

• The Clothworkers’ Affordability Scholarship (School of Design):

  • BA Sustainable Fashion & BA Fashion Design Innovation: £3,000/year for three years + £2,000 in the first year for a laptop.

  • BSc Textile Innovation and Sustainability: £6,625/year for three years (£3,000 as a maintenance grant + £3,625 tuition discount).
