University of Leicester PhD Studentship 2025 Overview

The DigitalMetal CDT, led by the University of Leicester in partnership with four UK universities, offers about 14 fully funded PhD studentships for 2025 entry. The programme trains future leaders to digitally transform the metals and manufacturing industry using AI, digital twinning, and advanced engineering.

University of Leicester PhD Studentship 2025 Eligibility

• Must hold (or expect to obtain) at least a 2:1 BSc or pass in MSc in a relevant subject

• International applicants must check eligibility with the project lead

• Must meet the University of Leicester’s English language requirements

• Students cannot apply with an incomplete application

• Visa and healthcare surcharge (~£2,500) applies to international students

• Full tuition fees (UK/Home rate)

• Annual stipend of £19,237 (2024/25 UKRI rate)

• £4,000 per year Research Training Support Grant (RTSG)

• CV, academic transcripts, certificates

• Proof of English proficiency (if applicable)

• Names and contact information of two referees (or signed reference letters)
