The Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarships (VCIS) scheme at the University of Sydney offers up to $40,000 AUD in financial support to outstanding international students beginning bachelor’s or coursework master’s degrees in 2025. The scholarship is a one-time award for high-achieving students who receive an unconditional offer of admission to a CRICOS-registered programme.

To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must:

Be an international student

Have applied for an undergraduate or coursework master’s degree at the University of Sydney

Hold an unconditional offer of admission by the relevant scholarship round deadline

Be commencing studies for the first time (scholarship not renewable in future years)
University of Sydney Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarships 2025 Benefits
Awarded based on academic merit and ranking, the VCIS includes four possible funding levels:

$40,000 AUD (paid in two equal instalments over one year)

$20,000 AUD (for one semester)

$10,000 AUD (for one semester)

$5,000 AUD (for one semester)
