Role Overview
GOGLA is seeking a motivated graduate intern or early-stage professional to support the implementation of our Productive Uses of Renewable Energy (PURE) programmes in Nigeria and globally. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a career in public policy, international development, or the off-grid energy sector.
We are looking for a candidate with strong written communication skills and analytical capacity, who can provide support for the team’s wider financial and technical management of Productive Uses of Renewable Energy (PURE) programs across Africa, with particular focus on Nigeria, Mozambique, Kenya, and Uganda. You will be based in Lagos, Nigeria, and must be able to demonstrate the right to work in Nigeria.
Core Tasks
Working closely with the Senior Policy and Investment Representative in Lagos, and the Associate Director for PURE Programmes, you will support the Strategy and Programmes team across two core areas, tasks will include:
-Project Management

Support the coordination and collation of key donor reports, working with senior team members to gather inputs and report technical achievements
-Policy analysis and synthesis

Regional Engagement & Liaison Support:Â Assist GOGLA’s regional engagement activities in West Africa, with a focus on Nigeria, by carrying out research and preparing background materials for regional working group meetings, consultations, and convenings. Support the coordination of stakeholder communications, help track relevant developments in the off-grid solar sector, and assist in drafting member updates and briefings to keep partners and members informed.

Reporting & Briefings:Â Contribute research inputs for reports, white papers and presentations that support evidence-based advocacy and decision-making.
 –Events and Logistical support

Providing logistical and administrative support for dialogues, policy roundtables, workshops, and webinars — including developing and managing meeting invitations, agendas, presentations, notes, and event reports.

Supporting coordination of the Western African Working Group.

Providing general administrative and operational support to the association as needed.

With support and oversight of colleagues, provide logistical support such as travel bookings and venue identification for GOGLA’s flagship events such as the Global Off-Grid Solar Forum and Expo (GOGSFE), and the Community of Champions.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in development cooperation, finance, project management, public policy, political science, international relations, economics, or a related field.

Languages:Â Knowledge of additional languages, particularly French, is considered an asset.
