UWA Global Excellence Scholarship 2026 for High-Achieving International Students 

Overview

The University of Western Australia offers the Global Excellence Scholarship to outstanding international students who plan to begin their studies in 2026. This award recognises academic excellence and provides significant tuition fee reductions for both undergraduate and postgraduate students.

Eligibility

Applicants must:
– Be international students from any country
– Hold an offer for an eligible undergraduate or postgraduate course starting in 2026
– Meet the minimum academic requirement of ATAR 85.00 for undergraduate entry or WAM 65.00 for postgraduate entry
– Achieve higher ATAR or WAM scores for larger scholarship amounts
Certain programmes are excluded, such as Medicine, Dental Medicine, Juris Doctor, Optometry, and micro-credentials.

Benefits

Students may receive:
– Up to AUD 48,000 over four years for eligible undergraduate degrees
– Up to AUD 36,000 over three-year undergraduate programmes
– Up to AUD 24,000 over two years for eligible postgraduate coursework degrees
Scholarship value is based on the applicant’s ATAR or WAM and applies as an annual tuition fee discount for the full duration of the course.

Program Components

– Annual tuition fee reduction
– Award value determined by academic performance at admission
– Applies to full-time study for the standard duration of the degree
– Eligible for and combined bachelor’s and master’s pathways, including five-year engineering combinations worth up to AUD 60,000

Application Requirements

No separate scholarship application is required. Applicants must:
– Apply for an eligible UWA course
– Submit academic transcripts for ATAR/WAM assessment
– Meet course-specific admission and English requirements
UWA converts international qualifications individually where required.

Selection Criteria

Awards are determined strictly by academic achievement (ATAR or WAM). Higher scores qualify for higher scholarship values.

– Scholarship value is automatically calculated during admission
– Final award amount is confirmed in the offer letter once transcripts are assessed
