Description

Daystar Power Group is looking to engage a competent Credit Controller, who will play a key role in overseeing the credit risk management processes at Daystar Power Group to ensure that the company’s credit risk is minimized, and receivables are collected on time.

Key responsibilities:

  • Implement the company’s credit risk management policies.
  • Perform credit risk assessment on new clients and monitor credit risk behavior of existing clients.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients.
  • Process client invoices and ensure they are submitted to the client on time.
  • Conduct price reviews with clients on a timely basis.
  • Monitor client’s receivables to ensure issues are proactively identified and escalated to management.
  • Follow up on invoices to ensure payments are collected on time.
  • Maintain a schedule of commercial agreements with clients and ensure that they are implemented.
  • Reconcile client accounts and resolve any client issues or queries on time.
  • Maintain detailed records of collection activities and correspondences.
  • Ensure the receivables GL is regularly reconciled.
  • Supervise and coach team members.

Requirements

1. Education: Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in related disciplines – Accounting, Finance, Economics.

  • Chartered accounting qualification (ICAN or ACCA) is an advantage.

2. Experience: Minimum of 6 years work experience in credit control with a minimum of 3 years in a supervisory position.

3. Language Proficiency: English (with good communication skills and accurate reporting skills).

4. Character:

a. Proactive self-starter and pays attention to details.

b. Self-motivated and demonstrate a sense of ownership with high level of commitment and the ability to thrive under pressure.

c. Passionate leader with excellent team leadership skills.

d. Highly organized with ability to manage multiple projects in parallel and prioritize competing demands, passion for renewable energy.

5. Competency and Skills Requirements

  • Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Hands-on experience with managing customer receivables.
  • Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to details.
  • Highly inquisitive mindset with an aptitude for numbers.
  • Strong proficiency in the usage of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Extensive experience with accounting software packages.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize a demanding workload.

6. Others:

a. Agility: the ability to be flexible, responsive, adaptive, and show initiative in times of change, uncertainty and business opportunity.
