Thuthuka Bursary for 2026 For Aspiring Chartered Accountant Overview

The Thuthuka Bursary is a funding initiative aimed exclusively at students in South Africa who aspire to become Chartered Accountants (CAs). The bursary is not a loan and cannot be used to settle existing debt. Successful applicants will be required to sign a bursary contract with both Thuthuka Education and Upliftment Fund (TEUF) and NSFAS.


Thuthuka Bursary for 2026 For Aspiring Chartered Accountant Eligibility

Applicants must:

  • Be South African citizens.

  • Aspire to become Chartered Accountants (CAs).

  • Be applying for the 2026 academic year.

  • Meet academic performance criteria, NBT results, and pass the NSFAS means test.

  • Submit a complete application, including all required documents and signed consent form.


Thuthuka Bursary for 2026 For Aspiring Chartered Accountant Benefits

  • Full or partial financial support toward university studies in the Chartered Accountancy stream.

  • Covers expenses such as tuition, accommodation, books, and meals, depending on need.


Thuthuka Bursary for 2026 For Aspiring Chartered Accountant Fellowship/Program Components

  • Mandatory contract with both TEUF and NSFAS.

  • Ongoing support and mentoring as part of the Thuthuka CA pathway.

  • Only available for accounting-related degree programs leading to becoming a Chartered Accountant.

You must upload the following documents:

  • Signed consent form (available on the application portal)

  • Applicant’s ID

  • Parent(s)’/Guardian(s)’ ID

  • Parent(s)’/Guardian(s)’ salary slips

  • ID copies of all dependents

  • Final Grade 11 results

  • Final Grade 12 results (if applicable)

  • Full university transcript (if already in university)

  • University provisional acceptance letter (for high school students)
